There is something both magical and daunting about the end of the year. The magic is in the fact that you survived yet another year, in the midst of all that may have happened in and around you, you are still around ready to keep going.
It’s daunting because your mind forces you into retrospection and then you ask the strong questions of what you have done with the time, where are you on the goals you set in January to achieve during the year and now that it’s drawing to a close how will the carry over goals of the year affect the new year.
New years are beautiful, the hope and belief that people have that somehow the start of a new year means a new start in their lives; so they plan their whole life and the goals they want to achieve waiting for the miracle of the new year to come upon them and lead them through the year. Only for them to end up at the end of the year in the same spot only with more luggage from lost time.
So if you don’t want to end up in the same place as the previous years, now is a good time to get back to the table and see what can be done in the left time in the year. What can be done to ensure that the following year yields more fruits?
This is a time for retrospection and introspection. It’s a time to look back and have no regrets, look within to find strength and look forward with renewed hope.
